It's been a while since I've done a "check-in" post about the boys. So here we go...
First Eric, who continues to lead us into uncharted waters as he gets to new stages of life.
Eric is 4 years and 7 months old (almost).
In the past few months he has gotten taller and much thinner. He has lost that baby pot-belly and chubby cheeks.
He has decided he no longer wants to be called "Bubba". This is pretty sad, but he really only fights it if Jake calls him that. Christian and I can still get away with it :)
He compulsively tells us how much he loves us over and over. He loves to try to explain just how much he does, more than the whole world, and way more than we love him, more than space... He always gives us the order, he loves God the most, then Mom and Dad and Lela… and he also loves Jake.
He's starting to be scared of things. Like at night he's always scared in his room, or sometimes during the day he'll make Jake come with him so he won't be alone -- even in the bathroom! Not sure that he's really scared or if it's just a new excuse :)
He's finally starting to enjoy writing and drawing more. He uses his left hand almost exclusively, and I'm curious if that will continue.
Eric really loves numbers and money. He learned about percents (or "pre-cents", as he calls them) from the battery life at the top of the iPad, so he's always throwing out "pre-centages" of how much something is - and they even make sense a lot of times! He's always trying to do chores to get money, or negotiating ways he can get a new app.
He loves being read to. Especially chapter books. We just started the Ramona books and he loves them. He's always concerned with who's being rude or naughty and he loves pointing that out in the books.
He's extremely protective of Lela and dotes on her all the time. He really enjoys his role as the oldest. He and Jake fight ALL THE TIME lately, but I'm finding that I can just leave them alone and they work it out quite often and get back to their game. And oh, the wrestling…
This kid is something special. It's amazing (and sometimes scary) to watch him growing up and become more independent, but also still just be my baby!
