4th of July

We had a wonderful 4th this year beginning with a slow morning then trip to the mall to walk around and get lunch.

Then we went up to Gramma's and swam with cousins. This year swimming has been a lot of fun. The boys usetheir water wings and Lela loves her float so it's less work and less stress than in past years.

Cousins

Lela laid back in her float sucking her thumb most of the time

Warming up in the sun

He calls himself "Water-Jake" when he's in the pool

Then she finally fell asleep and took a nice little nap bobbing on the water

The kids helped Pa shuck the corn

The thought of waiting for the corn was unacceptable to Jake, so he ate his raw

Sweet 'Merica Girl

After a yummy BBQ it was off to fireworks! We went into Fallbrook and watched the Grand Tradition's show from my uncle's yard.

The kids got to wear Pa's ear muffs

Waiting for the fireworks to start. They'd never seen them this close - or loud - and they had no idea what to expect!

None of them were scared, but Jake wanted to hold Christian's hand the whole time

They were seriously impressed!

We were super close to the fireworks. In this picture you can see the smoke which was where they were setting them off from, just across the field.

Lela liked them, too

Jake kept his ear muffs on all the way home.

We had such a fun day!
