Christian and I decided this year instead of Christmas presents for eachother, we would take a trip just us. I found a groupon.com deal for the Paradise Point Resort and Spa in San Diego and we decided it would be perfect (and nice and close). Mom stayed with the boys (becuase she's a saint, you see).
We had lunch at a yummy little spot on the water in Mission Beach.
Then we went and checked into the resort. It was beautiful!
It reminded us of a place we stayed in Cancun.
The rooms are these little bungalows right on the water. So pretty!
We enjoyed some champagne on the private beach.
Ok, so you know those cell phone commercials where the lady is trying it unlock the Benz (or whatever) and is talking about having Cornish game hens, but it's not really her car? That's how we felt. We really don't get out much and we kept getting coupons for stuff, so we really did cram as much luxury into those 24 hours as we could! We got a couples massage in this private palapa thing. It was wonderful! Then Christian went in the sauna while I relaxed and had some complementary refreshments. Ahhh!
We ate dinner at the restaurant there. We were literally the only guests. I guess Tuesday nights in January are a little slow :)
Off to dinner
After dinner we went out to the beach and made s'mores with our complementary s'mores kit. So fun!
We slept in this morning and had breakfast in our room. Glorious.
After we checked out we climbed up this tower and saw some beautiful views of the ocean and San Diego.
We had a fun, quick trip. It was so nice to have some kid-free us time. That ought to hold us for another couple of years :)
