This year I tried to build up Easter for Eric and do fun things all week. This holiday really is "the big one" for us and we do so much for Christmas, I also want the boys to know that Easter is important. We talked about it a lot, did a craft every day and read his Easter book several times. I found it a little hard to explain Easter in detail to a 2 year old (the dying on the cross part), so we talked about the bad people hurting Jesus. In his 2 year old language and understanding, here's what he gleaned from it all: Jesus got a spankin' then they put him in a rock and everyone was sad. But God got him out of the rock and then everyone was happy. :)
We had a wonderful Easter weekend. Saturday morning we did baskets for the kids and then spent the afternoon at my Gramma's with family. The kids were all in great moods, got along well, and had a blast hunting for eggs. There was lots of good food, too, like always! Sunday after church we went to Wilma's and had another egg hunt and yummy dinner. The kids did well there, too -- right up to the end.

Every Easter growing up, my mom would hide our Easter baskets, then run string around the house for us to follow to the hiding place. Eric's was in the dryer.

Then we went up to Mom and Dad's and the kids got to find their Easter presents. (This was surprisingly hard for him :))
