We woke up and got the condo ready for Christian. Wilma, John and Nicole also came on this day, we were were all pretty excited. We headed out to meet the boat.
Classic Jake
Classic Soph
Watching the fish and waiting for Daddy's boat (and freaking me out that they would fall into the ocean).
Waving at the boat.
Happy to have Dad there.
We had an ice cream cone on our walk back up the hill.
The kids had a little sing-along when we got back to the condo.
Then the four of us took a golf cart ride up in the hills and down past Pebbly Beach.
Me and my Eric
We stopped at the gas station, and since the gas tank is under the front seat, we just took sleeping Jake off and set him on the ground :)
Both boys fell asleep on the ride.
That night we all had dinner together at The Landing.
Day Six:
Today was an overcast, rainy day. Unfortunately it was also the day we decided to go Descanso Beach. We still had a nice time laying in the sand for a couple hours and playing in the water.
This is our kids playing on the beach with Taylor Hawkins' son (drummer from Foo Fighters). He was sitting next to us on the beach.
This was after Eric got pulled under the waves and was completely freaked out. He needed to sit with me for a while a recover...
Christian and Jake
When we got home, Eden and I played Crazy 8's.
Kiddos having a popcorn snack
Driving in the rain.
Day Seven:
Pa got donuts for breakfast.
We had lunch at El Galleon with John
Then it was time for our Undersea Adventure!
The boys loved looking at all the fish!
See any resemblance?
Eric was in heaven identifying all the fish.
There were hundreds and hundreds of fish swarming the boat when they fed them.
Our attempt at a family photo when we went on deck for the end of the boat ride.
Walking around after the boat tour.
Such a handsome boy!
Then we played on the beach, shopped a little, got some groceries, then went home to BBQ hamburgers.
Jake ate some bubbles.
Day Eight:
Walking into town.
Jake hanging out on the beach with Oma.
Just relaxing.
Chris arrived today, so we all went out to dinner at Antonio's. The Light girls were so happy to finally have their daddy there!
Crazy mirror at Antonio's.
Eric and Nicole
Day Nine:
Today the Banks arrived, so we stopped and saw them on the beach, then headed down to the Casino for lunch and a Behind the Scenes Casino Tour. It's one we've done before, but we always love looking around and thinking about Gramma and Grampa visiting and dancing there back in the day.
Eric having his own soda at lunch. Our kids rarely get soda and candy, but we totally spoiled them on this trip!
Jake is going through a phase where he always wants ME to carry him. He weighs over 30 pounds and I got quite a lot of exercise on this vacation lugging him around!
After the Casino tour.
Cotton candy!
On our way back up the hill we stopped at Gallagher's and Christian got a beer and we had a cheese plate. Eric was pretty impressed with how big the crackers were!
That night we had dinner at Mi Casita with Nicole (or my-cole, as Jake calls her). We had really pushed the boys too hard with tons of walking and the tour, etc so they were a complete wreck all through the meal. Crying, yelling and trying to jump out the window we were sitting by. Oh well, it happens! Vacation can wear you out!
