December-January so far

Here is the run-down of what we’ve been up to this past month:

We had Eric’s 1st birthday party at Great-Gramma Maddock’s house. Eric was big into his cake. He grabbed it with both hands and hugged it against his body while he ate it. He wasn’t really into opening his presents, but luckily there were enough cousins around to help with that!

Our Christmas was wonderful. We bounced around between our different families, and also had a chance to just relax and be together. Eric eventually got the hang of opening presents and started to enjoy it.

He loves his trike from Granny and Pa!

For New Year’s Eve, we went up to my Gramma’s in the evening to watch old movies. It was really fun, we had desserts and popcorn. Then we came home and rang in the new year just the 3 of us. Pretty wild, huh?
Also in the past month, Eric’s been working on popping out some molars, learning new words and perfecting his own version of the “more” sign. He daintily puts his thumb and middle finger together and taps them on his open palm. He does it a lot!

He loves to take all of his toys and books and throw them over the gate into the office. The bright side: our living room is far less cluttered!

On January 2nd, I got to be in my good friend Laura’s wedding. It was such a gorgeous day, and such a fun couple!

Other fun news is that my sister is expecting! She’s due in August, and we’re so excited to have another niece or nephew. ALSO, Christian’s sister is having her little baby girl this week! We’re loving all these sweet additions to the family!

We are so thankful that Christian is done with the job he’s been doing up in Fullerton for the past 3 months or so. He has had to sleep away from home 3 nights a week, and now we are so glad to have him home!! That's about it!
